Can I send a trader a prefilled login link?
Quick answer
Yes. From a trading account's drawer in the admin panel, "Connect to account" opens the terminal's login page with the Account Number, Password and Server filled in. You can send that link to the trader. The form does not submit itself; the trader clicks to log in.
Detailed answer
Prefilled links save traders from typing three values, which reduces login errors.
The link format
The login page accepts ?account=, ?password= and ?server= parameters. Any subset works; for example, a link with only the server prefilled is useful in a welcome email.
What happens when it opens
- The values are read into the form.
- They are removed from the browser's address bar immediately, before analytics scripts load.
- Anything the trader types replaces the prefilled value.
- The trader presses log in; the form does not submit automatically.
Important limitation
Cleaning the address bar protects history and screenshots, but the link itself, as sent by email or chat, contains the password. Treat it like a password.
Good practice
- Send links only to the trader's registered email.
- Never post them in community channels.
- Rotate the password if a link may have been shared.
