Does PropExecutor support news trading restrictions?
Quick answer
Not as an automatic rule today. The news blackout rule is listed in the catalogue but marked unavailable, because enforcing it requires an economic calendar feed, which is not connected. Firms that restrict news trading handle it in their payout review using the account's trade timestamps.
Detailed answer
This is a known gap, stated plainly.
Why it is not available
A news rule must know exactly when each high-impact event happens. Without a reliable calendar feed, the platform cannot enforce it correctly, and an inaccurate news rule would cause more disputes than it prevents.
What firms do instead
- Allow news trading: many firms do, and it is popular with traders.
- Review at payout: compare trade timestamps with an economic calendar and apply your policy to trades within the restricted window.
- Reduce exposure: use risk per trade, mandatory stop loss and leverage caps, which limit damage from news spikes.
Data available for review
Every deal in the account report has open and close times, so a reviewer can check trades against event times.
If it becomes available
The rule would appear in the builder for new rule versions; existing accounts would keep their frozen rules.
