Do unused credits carry over when I upgrade?

Quick answer

Yes. Unused credits from your plan and from any top-up packs always carry over when you upgrade, and the upgrade adds the difference in included accounts on top. For example, a Starter firm with 10 credits left that upgrades to Basic ends with 210 credits.

Detailed answer

An upgrade never resets your pool; it only adds to it.

Why it works this way

Credits are a permanent pool. Everything you have bought stays yours. An upgrade is priced as the difference between plans and grants the difference in accounts, so moving up early or late costs the same.

Examples

  • Starter, 10 left, upgrade to Basic: 10 + 200 = 210 remaining.
  • Starter with a 500-pack, 300 left, upgrade to Growth: 300 + 1,200 = 1,500 remaining.
  • Basic, 0 left, upgrade to Growth: 0 + 1,000 = 1,000 remaining.

Packs bought before the upgrade

Credits from packs bought on a lower plan remain in the pool after upgrading. Future packs are priced at the higher plan's rate.

Timing an upgrade

Because nothing is lost, upgrade when you need the higher plan's features or when its per-account rate starts to save you money. There is no advantage in using up credits first.
