Can I close or archive an account?

Quick answer

Yes. Archiving takes an account out of active use, revokes its sessions and hides it from your active lists, while keeping its history. Firms can also close open positions on an account from the admin panel. Archiving does not refund the account's credit.

Detailed answer

Accounts end in different ways: a breach, a pass, a refund, or simply no longer being needed.

Archiving

  • Stops the account from being used.
  • Revokes all live sessions.
  • Keeps the full trade history and status for reporting.
  • Removes it from the trader's account switcher.

Closing positions

From the account's view, a firm can close open positions, for example before archiving an account that still has trades open.

Credits

Archiving does not return the account's credit. Each credit buys one account for its lifetime, whatever happens to it.

When to archive

  • Refunded challenges that were never traded.
  • Duplicate accounts created by mistake.
  • Old accounts you no longer want in active views.

Archived versus breached

A breached account has a status and reason from the rule engine or a manual breach. An archived account has simply been taken out of use. Both keep their history.
