What is the PropExecutor rule engine?
Quick answer
The rule engine is the part of PropExecutor that enforces your challenge rules. It judges every account on every price tick as it arrives, checks order limits inside the transaction that writes each order, decides passes and breaches, records flags, and stores the reason for every decision. Rules come from a visual builder and are versioned per account.
Detailed answer
The rule engine is what turns your rules page into behaviour.
What it does
- Tick checks: evaluates loss limits and other equity-based rules for every account on each new price, in the order prices arrive.
- Order checks: refuses orders that would break limits such as lot size, open positions, instruments, leverage, trading hours or hedging.
- Pass decisions: marks an account passed when the profit target and every other pass condition are met.
- Flags: records behaviour that needs a human decision, with counts and timestamps.
- Records: stores which rule ended an account and why.
What makes it reliable
- No batching of decisions: a breach is written when the tick that caused it is judged.
- No dropped ticks: if the queue of prices fills, the feed waits rather than skipping one.
- Atomic order checks: limits are checked under a per-account lock inside the order's own transaction, so two simultaneous orders cannot both slip past a limit, even across server instances.
- Frozen versions: each account is judged against the rule version it was created under.
