Which chart timeframes are available?

Quick answer

Charts offer seven timeframes: one, five, fifteen and thirty minutes, one and four hours, and daily. Candles update live with each price, and traders can scroll back through long history, which loads automatically as they move left.

Detailed answer

The chart is built for fast, live updating, because a prop terminal's chart has to repaint on every tick without lag.

Timeframes

  • M1, M5, M15, M30: for intraday and scalping strategies.
  • H1, H4: for intraday and swing context.
  • D1: for the bigger picture.

History

  • Forex and metals: back to 2000.
  • Bitcoin: back to 2015.
  • Other instruments: from when the live feed began recording.

All timeframes are built from one-minute bars, so every timeframe agrees with every other.

Technology

Charts use TradingView's open-source Lightweight Charts library, a canvas-based renderer designed for real-time financial data.

Analysis tools

Many traders do detailed analysis on their own charting platform and use the terminal's chart for execution and monitoring. Firms should mention in their FAQ which tools their terminal offers, so traders know what to expect. A one-click trade strip on the chart also lets traders act directly from it.
