Can traders see their rule limits in the terminal?
Quick answer
Yes. Every account's terminal includes a dashboard that shows the account's rules and live headroom: how much can still be lost today, the distance to the maximum loss floor, progress towards the profit target and trading days completed. The figures come from the exact rule version the account was created under.
Detailed answer
Seeing the limits in real time is what prevents most surprise breaches.
What is shown
- Daily loss: the day's opening value, the floor and the remaining headroom.
- Maximum loss: the fixed floor under the starting balance and the distance to it.
- Profit target: amount reached and remaining.
- Trading days: completed versus required.
- Other rules in the account's rule set.
Why the source matters
The dashboard reads the frozen rule version attached to the account, the same version the rule engine judges against. If a firm changes its rules later, the trader's dashboard still shows the rules they bought, because those are the rules that apply to them.
How it updates
Headroom updates as prices move, including floating profit and loss on open positions. A trader can watch the daily loss headroom shrink as a position moves against them and act before it reaches zero.
For your support team
When a trader asks how close they are to a limit, the answer is already on their screen. That removes one of the most common support questions.
