What actions can a rule take?
Quick answer
Depending on the rule, it can breach the account, reject the order, flag the account for review, or hold back a pass. Loss limits breach; order limits reject the order or flag; behaviour rules flag or breach; objectives such as minimum trading days and consistency hold back a pass until they are met.
Detailed answer
Matching the action to the rule makes enforcement feel fair.
The four actions
- Breach: ends the account, records the rule and reason.
- Reject order: refuses the order before it is placed; the account continues.
- Flag: records the event on the account for review, with a count and first and last occurrence.
- Block pass: the account cannot pass until the condition is met.
Typical mappings
- Daily loss, maximum loss: breach.
- Trailing drawdown, weekend holding: breach or flag.
- Lot size, positions, leverage, trading hours, orders per day: reject or flag.
- No hedging: reject, breach or flag.
- Minimum hold time: flag or breach.
- Profit target, minimum trading days, profitable days, consistency: block pass.
- Custom rules: breach, reject or flag.
Choosing in the builder
Where a rule supports more than one action, the builder lets you pick. The default is the most common choice for that rule.
