How does a prop firm connect checkout to account creation?
Quick answer
Usually through a webhook: when the payment provider confirms a sale, it notifies your server, which calls the trading platform's API to create or assign an account and then emails the login details. Without an API, someone does this manually from the admin panel.
Detailed answer
A reliable flow:
- Payment succeeds and the processor sends a webhook.
- Your server verifies the webhook signature.
- Account: your server assigns a pre-created account, or creates a new one, for the purchased account type.
- Credentials are sent to the buyer.
- Idempotency: a repeated webhook must not create a second account.
Pre-creating accounts keeps the flow fast and simple. On PropExecutor you can create up to 100 accounts per request in the admin panel, and the public API can assign a trader to an account by name and email. Re-assigning the same trader is a no-op, which makes a retried webhook safe. Creating accounts through the API is planned.
Monitor it
Alert yourself if a payment arrives without an account being delivered within a few minutes, so a failed webhook never leaves a paying customer waiting.
Test it with a real purchase after every change to checkout or webhooks.
