What should I have ready before I talk to a technology provider?
Quick answer
Before contacting platform providers, know your market and instruments, account sizes, rule set, expected number of accounts in the first year, budget, target launch date, and what you will build yourself, such as the website and checkout. This lets you compare quotes and features on equal terms.
Detailed answer
Bring answers to these questions:
- Market: forex and CFDs, futures or crypto, and which instruments.
- Rules: which limits you need, such as daily loss, maximum loss, trailing drawdown, consistency or news restrictions.
- Volume: expected accounts per month at launch and after a year.
- Budget: one-time and monthly limits.
- Branding: how much of the terminal must carry your brand.
- Integrations: whether accounts should be created automatically from your checkout.
- Mobile: whether traders need an app.
Then ask each provider for setup fees, monthly fees, per-account or volume fees, contract length and who owns the data. Many providers do not publish prices. PropExecutor's prices are published on its pricing page, and its API documentation states which endpoints are live today and which are planned.
Ask for a demo
Ask every provider for a live demo account on the trader side, not just slides. Trading on the terminal for a day tells you more about the experience your traders will have than any feature list.
